Spring Hill, Florida (August 13, 2018) – Hernando Orthopaedic & Spinal Surgery announces that Michael W. Higgins, DO, was recently recertified by the Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
For a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine to become board certified, the surgeon must initially collect 200 major surgeries and have two clinical examiners review their cases and watch them perform surgery. The surgeons are then recertified every ten years by examination or clinical exam. Although Dr. Higgins is also a Senior Clinical Examiner he must still need to recertify.
