Cutting Business Healthcare Costs with Prism Health Advocates

August 13, 2018 by Post

Prism Health Advocates’ new health advocacy service for business has the power to lower a company’s healthcare spending by reducing employee healthcare costs without sacrificing quality. Prism accomplishes this goal through a Trident of Care: improving access to and quality of healthcare, educating employees about how to cost-effectively use their insurance benefits and guaranteeing a reduction in costs.

Self-insured companies appreciate the cost-savings that a health advocate can garner through price shopping for medical procedures and negotiating down the cost of medical bills. Businesses that use private insurance also benefit from lower healthcare expenditures because it helps them negotiate lower premiums with health insurance companies.

A health advocate assists his or her patients by comparing pricing on medical procedures, researching specialists, laying out treatment options in plain English, negotiating down the cost of medical bills and setting up payment plans with healthcare providers. This range of services cuts down on healthcare costs and lightens an employee’s burden. With a health advocate on their side, employees can focus on doing their jobs as opposed to struggling with complicated insurance forms and costly healthcare providers.

Prism also offers a service to help cut down on expensive Emergency Room stays. Prism’s company-specific ER Triage System puts a Prism health advocate on-call to provide employees with emergency medical advice. Every Prism health advocate is a registered nurse who can advise a patient about how to best seek out treatment for his or her health problem.

Through the use of education programs, Prism can teach a company’s workforce about preventative medicine, body mechanics, nutrition, exercise and sleep hygiene. A health advocate can also provide additional information to high-cost employees suffering from chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease or asthma about affordable treatment options for their diseases.

“Prism’s health advocacy services for businesses provide a win-win opportunity for both employers and employees to save money on healthcare expenses,” said Debbie Bain, Founder and Managing Partner of Prism. “I look forward to educating Tampa Bay business owners about how we can start saving them money.”

Prism Health Advocates will be sponsoring an event hosted by the Women’s Business Development Council of Florida (WBDC) entitled “How to Cut Business and Personal Healthcare Costs.” The event will take place the evening of Aug. 22 at the Centre Club in Tampa. Please visit the Facebook event page to RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/1992393531070972/.

About Prism Health Advocates

Prism Health Advocates is a privately owned health advocacy firm that helps individuals and organizations navigate through the difficult process of researching doctors, comparing pricing on procedures, negotiating medical bills and setting-up payment plans for medical expenses. Debbie Bain, the founder of Prism, is a former trauma nurse who grew tired of seeing patients struggle with the high cost of healthcare and the knowledge barriers put up by the U.S. healthcare system. So, she decided to start her own firm to advocate for patients’ physical health and financial well-being. Prism has experience serving the health advocacy needs of families, seniors, veterans, uninsured people and individuals with disabilities. The company also works with organizations to reduce health insurance costs using a combination of educational programs and health advocacy services.
