Whether it’s the golfer who chokes at a critical moment or the cross country runner who has difficulty maintaining focus during competition, athletes can benefit from identifying their mental game strengths and weaknesses.
“The Winning Edge,” a book by Lakeland resident Dr. Lenny Giammatteo, helps athletes develop their God-given abilities through sport psychology principles and strategies. It is available starting Aug. 6.
Using inspiring stories about athletes, motivational quotes, proven sports psychology principles, and practical strategies that help readers identify and assess their strengths and weaknesses, the book offers guidance toward positive outcomes in sports and life.
“This book provides a secret weapon for athletes to build mental game strategies that will enhance their performance,” Giammatteo said. “Most athletes know very little about sport psychology principles and spend little time developing their mental game fitness. This book gives athletes the tools to become mentally strong and persevere to success.”
