Business Number Basics Workshop Explains Tools to Help Answer “Am I Making Money?”

August 3, 2018 by Post

(SARASOTA, Fla.) Business owners can learn about tools to help them understand and monitor how their business is performing at an upcoming SCORE Manasota workshop, “Business Number Basics: Am I Making Money?”

The August 14 workshop will introduce financial statements that provide a high level “dashboard” for understanding the financial performance of a business: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement. It will also cover money ratios and what they mean, and it will utilize a review of financial statements for a small pizza business to illustrate the concepts.

Presenter Richard “King” Barnard has held high level management positions in the aerospace and defense industries, and he founded Management Doctor Inc., a consulting firm providing comprehensive business analysis and improvement recommendation services. Barnard, a past faculty member at Florida Institute of Technology, is a SCORE mentor whose clients have twice won SCORE Manasota Client of the Year awards as well as an Entrepreneur of the Year award.

This workshop will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, August 14, at Keiser University, 6151 Lake Osprey Drive, Sarasota. The workshop fee is $20 pre-paid with registration or $25 at the event. Registration is available at http://manasota.score.org. For additional information, contact SCORE Manasota at scorech116@verizon.net or 941.955.1029.
