OneWheel has been bringing the excitement and adrenaline rush of board sports to everyday travel since 2014. With the rising popularity of the single-wheeled electric skateboard, more and more people are experiencing the perks of this revolutionary method of personal transportation. However, the OneWheel is not without its drawbacks. After reaching their destination, riders face the inconvenience of carrying the hefty thirty-pound board around with them. Additionally, a short stop or an impromptu nosedive can result in the rider catapulting from the board and risking injury. These problems are soon to be resolved with the launch of SynergyWiz’s accessory for OneWheel, the Glider v2.0.
As an attachment accessory, the Glider v2.0 adds two small wheels to the front of the OneWheel, as well as a handle to the back, allowing the user to walk the OneWheel like a carry-on suitcase, thus eliminating the need to carry the tiresome weight of the board. Additionally, the small wheels at the front of the board allow the device to continue rolling, rather than launching the rider forward, in the event of an abrupt stop, which increases the overall safety of the OneWheel.
Coming off of a successful Kickstarter campaign for the launch of the original Glider, SynergyWiz has built upon their experience with the first model to offer a stronger, more streamlined version of the Glider. The company is at the forefront of the Maker Movement, utilizing the latest advancements in additive manufacturing technology to produce its inventory with PETG filament, a wonder material that is weather and heat resistant. This, combined with the company’s innovative engineering techniques, will ensure a maximum-strength rugged design capable of enduring the toughest wear and tear.
As a OneWheel enthusiast, founder and owner of SynergyWiz, John Toner, recognized a need for the product within the OneWheel community. According to Toner, “there has been an enormous outcry from the community for a product like the Glider, and since the Kickstarter ended, interest has continued to grow. The demand is there. We’re listening to the community and making an already awesome product better for the user. That is something we’re really proud of.” With a waitlist of over 200, the highly anticipated, community-driven product launch will take place in July 2018. The Glider v2.0 will be sold directly to the public and will offer attachments for all of OneWheel’s products, including the OneWheel, OneWheel+, and OneWheel+ XR.
SynergyWiz is a Florida-based small business and is the only company manufacturing a wheel-and-handle accessory for the OneWheel. With a patent pending, the Glider v2.0 is set to be the next big thing for the OneWheel community.
