
TAMPA, Fla. (July 18, 2018) — The University of South Florida Alumni Association has named its Outstanding Graduate for the Summer 2018 Commencement. USF’s Outstanding Graduates embody leadership, school spirit, academic excellence, community involvement and a love for the university.
Barbora Skopalova will be recognized during the USF Tampa Commencement ceremony on Aug. 4.

USF faculty describe Barbora as “a leader among leaders,” a student with an uncanny ability to bring together disparate personalities, perspectives and talents to solve problems. She served as president of USF’s of Phi Eta Sigma National Freshman Honor Society, an evolving chapter that gives high-achieving freshmen opportunities for personal and community development, and was an active member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law fraternity. As a member of USF’s Honor College, Barbora participated in a Design Thinking Workshop in Asheville, N.C., where she emerged as a central forcer in the collaborative effort to design future student learning trips to the community. Barbora also played club volleyball at USF and served as volunteer coach to youth club players.
A recipient of the USF Scholars Award and the History of Achievement Award, Barbora is graduating with a 3.95 GPA and plans to attend law school in fall 2019. In the meantime, she will continue her work with Orlando’s Consulate of Czech Republic, where she assists in resolving legal issues for both Czech and American citizens, and help build the newly incorporated Orlando Consular Corps.
