Tampa, Fla. – The Patel Conservatory will present Hello Dolly! July 12-22 in the Straz Center for the Performing Art’s TECO Theater.

First produced in 1964 but set in the turn-of-the-last-century, the masterpiece musical Hello Dolly! will come to life when performed by Patel Conservatory students in grades nine through college. This blockbuster Broadway hit follows the romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi as she “arranges things” for a certain Yonkers half-a-millionaire.

Hello Dolly!, directed by Straz Center Vice President of Education Suzanne Livesay, is sure to entertain with its larger than life characters, high-energy dance numbers and some of the most memorable songs in musical theater history. The music and lyrics of Hello Dolly! were written by Jerry Herman. The title song, recorded by the legendary Louis Armstrong, reached number one on the 1964 Billboard Hot 100 list, ending the Beatles’ 14-week winning streak.

Hello Dolly! will be presented in TECO Theater July 12-15, 19-22. Performances are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 and 7 p.m., with a sensory friendly performance on July 14, 2 p.m.    Regularly priced tickets start at $20 and may be purchased by calling 813.229.STAR (7827) or 800.955.1045 outside Tampa Bay, in person at the Straz Center Ticket Office or online at www.strazcenter.org. Handling fees will apply.
