Gainesville, FL, June 25, 2018- Dance Alive National Ballet (Dance Alive) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee May to the position of Executive Director. Ms. May, a well-known and respected business and community leader, was selected after an extensive national search. The Board of Directors has the fullest confidence that Ms. May will use her years of business and non-profit experience in fundraising, team building and leadership to foster the growth of Dance Alive.
Previously Ms. May served as Chairperson and Executive Director of the non-profit Gainesville Area Innovation Network (GAIN) where she was instrumental in developing community partnerships and sponsorships for key programs and for successfully growing GAIN membership from 200 to over 3600 members. Ms. May’s extensive experience in finance, general management, strategy, fundraising and business development coupled with the expansive network she had developed throughout Florida and nationally is a tremendous asset for Dance Alive.

She brings the professionalism, enthusiasm and knowledge of both the business and non-profit world that are essential in taking Dance Alive forward”, commented Gary Ascani, President of the Board of Trustees. Ms. May will take over the Executive Director duties previously performed by Kim Tuttle, a co-founder of Dance Alive. Ms. Tuttle, the company’s Executive Artistic Director, will retain the position of Artistic Director.
