Conserve our Coast: Offshore Oil Drilling Panel Presented by the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce

June 18, 2018 by Post

MADEIRA BEACH, Florida, June 18, 2018 –  The Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce will host a panel on Offshore Oil Drilling at their quarterly Community Advocacy Meeting from 9:00AM- 10:00AM on Thursday, June 21st, 2018.  The meeting will be held at Madeira Beach City Hall (300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach, FL 33708).

The ban on offshore oil drilling that was instituted after the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill is set to expire.  Environmentalists and small business owners alike are fearful of the detrimental effect another oil spill could have on our coast.  The panelists will be speaking as advocates for a permanent ban on offshore oil drilling in our Gulf.
The panelists include Hunter Miller (Oceana), David Yates (Clearwater Marine Aquarium), and Andrew Hayslip (Tampa Bay Waterkeeper).
