Tampa — On July 21st at 7:30 PM, a community of theatre lovers will dust off their platforms and bellbottoms, and travel back to a night in the 70s to celebrate and raise funds for the 5th Annual Tampa Bay Theatre Festival (TBTF). The Solid 70s “Get Down” fundraiser will be filled with nostalgia as attendees dress up in their best seventies’ attire while enjoying great music, dancing, trivia, food, and giveaways. The TBTF is committed to bringing the experience of education, networking, and entertainment through theatre to the Tampa Bay community. “I wanted to create a space where we could bring people from all walks of life together. Our annual fundraiser has helped us bring the TBTF to our city year after year,” said Founder, Rory Lawrence.

About the Tampa Bay Theatre Festival
The Tampa Bay Theatre Festival (TBTF) is organized by the 501 (c) (3) non-profit theatre company, RL Stage Inc. The TBTF will be held Friday, August 31st through Sunday, September 2nd, 2018. Attendees will experience powerful, informative workshops led by trained professionals, in addition to a scene, monologue, and short play competition, and original, full-length plays. Celebrity actor, Harry Lennix of NBC’s hit TV show The Blacklist, will be teaching an intensive master acting workshop during the festival for a third year. Festival events will be held at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, HCC Ybor, Stageworks Theatre, Carrollwood Players Theatre, and other participating local venues throughout the Tampa Area.
