Members of the Wesley Chapel Lions competitive lacrosse team joined up with the Manatee Wildcats to form a regional team, the Wildcats Tribe, and went undefeated this past weekend at one of the largest tournaments in the southeast, The Tampa Jam.
Wesley Chapel midfielders Dustin Evans and Braden Rosario won many face offs, ground balls and each had an impressive amount of both assists and goals. Defensemen Nolan Walsh, Luc Pierce and Aaron Matthews combined forces to repel many offensive attacks from excellent teams. Goalie, Cole Narkiewicz, played like he was possessed with an impressive save rate of nearly 70 percent and averaging 18 saves a game. The team’s youngest player, Chase Narkiewicz, scored the final goal in the championship game.
The boys stated they enjoyed making new friends with their teammates from Manatee, playing in the tournament and eating Kona Ice and fantastic barbeque after the championship game. The team is looking forward to the competitive fall season and a potential berth in the famous Tournament of Champions at their home field in December.
The organization will be looking to add to its rosters very soon. If your child has an interest in playing this fun sport, visit https://www.wcaasports.org/
