On June 9th, families enjoyed a morning of adventure and creativity at The Jungle in Your Backyard event hosted by Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast. Kids of all ages discovered the sights and sounds of nature with a scavenger hunt leading them along Little Sarasota Bay and through the woods at Bay Preserve in Osprey. Wild coffee, sea grapes, and American beautyberry were just a few of the many treasures revealed. Following the hunt, families collected leaves and vines to learn the unique art of nature printing with assistance from Sarasota Nature Printers’ volunteers.
Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast created and hosted the program to connect kids to nature and in celebration of Jungle Book, a family-friendly production presented by Asolo Rep, June 6 through June 24 in Sarasota.
