Tampa Bay June 7th, 2018. The Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce announced that Dobler Consulting is a semifinalist for the 2018 Small Business of the Year Award for companies between 21–50 employees. The awards are given annually and the winners will be announced in September 2018. The companies are evaluated on the criteria’s of operational management, community involvement, and ethical business practices.
“This nomination from the Chamber means so much to us at Dobler Consulting,” said CEO Peter Dobler. “If there is one thing we have collectively learned over the years, is that there isn’t much our small team can’t do if we put our hearts and minds and backs into it. This personal can-do spirit, that small businesses have in abundance, is what brings empowerment and vitality to the Tampa Bay business community.”
The importance of small business to the growth, innovation and job creation opportunities in the U.S. economy cannot be overstated. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 29.6 million businesses with less than 500 employees compared to 19,000 with over 500 employees. Employees of small businesses represent 47.8 % of the private sector workforce and account for 61.8 % of all new jobs since 1993. Entrepreneurial startups, which represent much of the innovation driving the economy, added 1.7 million new jobs in 2017 alone.

The 2018 Small Business of the Year Awards, is presented by Adcock Financial Group and Warren Averett and will be held on Thursday, September 13 at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. These awards highlight the impact of small business on the community and celebrate the achievements of the best of the best in Tampa Bay.
