Host of Florida Live brings young, independent voice
June 5, 2018 – (LARGO, Fla.) – Dan Maduri, host of Florida Live with Dan Maduri, appeared on June 1 on Florida This Week, a weekly show on Tampa’s own PBS station WEDU.
Host Rob Lorei welcomed Dan onto the show this week alongside Deborah Tamargo from the Florida Federation of GOP Women, Alan Clendenin from the Democratic National Committee’s Southern Caucus, and independent journalist Joe Brown. Dan brought his brand of independent thinking to the panel, along with a fresh take as the youngest panelist on the show.
Topics included the rising death toll in the continuing aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, the Florida Education Association’s evaluation of Florida state legislators, Publix’ political contributions to Adam Putnam, and Putnam’s new ad in his gubernatorial campaign.
Along with discussing the topics at hand, Dan suggests that income inequality is an underspoken issue in American life today. Said Maduri: “Everyone says the economy’s booming, the economy’s great, the economy’s wonderful. People are broke. They can’t afford a $400 emergency.”
