You are invited to Brick Street Clay Studio for ArtWalk Saturday, June 9th from 5p-9p. Second Saturdays at Brick Street Clay are a great time to speak with artists about their work and learn about what we do. Class instructors are on hand to speak with people interested in taking a class.
New work is on display that runs the gamut of ceramic processes and surface treatments. Snacks and refreshments will be available, and of course we have plenty of off street parking for those who wish to hop on the trolley and check out some of the other venues.
ArtWalk is a great time to get out and interact with our fantastic arts community in St. Pete. See you then!
Fun with Metal Clay Hearts
Thursday, June 21st 10a – 4p
$160 includes materials-$50 deposit required upon registration.
Metal clay, composed of microscopic particles of metal in an organic binder, is pliable like clay and fired in a kiln to fuse the particles into a solid piece of metal. It is a very versatile material that lends itself to mixed media combinations with glass, ceramics, and other materials as well as traditional metalsmithing techniques.
Participants will use metal clay sheet, also known as metal clay paper. Originally developed for origami artists, it can be folded, cut, punched, textured, and woven. Students will learn how to fold an origami heart pendant two ways.
