SARASOTA, Fla. (May 21, 2018) – J&K Kitchen and Bath, a locally owned custom cabinetry company, has purchased a 28,978-square-foot mixed-use property for $2.6 million. The property, located at 740 Apex Road in Sarasota, is situated on 2.06 acres and has two buildings – a 20,448-square-foot building to the north and an 11,913-square-foot building to the south.
The space includes 8,000 square feet of Class-A office space, as well as a well-maintained industrial/warehouse space ideal for a local distribution center.

“This property is really one-of-a-kind,” said DeVito, partner at Ian Black Real Estate. “In all my years of commercial real estate, I have never seen a warehouse space as nice as this one. Surprisingly, that turned out to be a challenge in selling the property because there were no comparable properties that have sold like this in the area.”
Unique features of the property include a dramatic glass entrance to the south building, as well as roughly 5,600 square feet of corporate office space with high-end finishes, a large reception area, conference room, breakroom, open work space and private offices with sidelights and built-in desks. The north building also features a showroom, private offices, more than 16,000 square feet of warehouse space, a 400-square-foot mezzanine and three loading docks.
“The property is in a convenient location near I-75 and Fruitville Road and will provide J&K Kitchen and Bath with the space they need for their growing business,” said Kolton. “The expansion will allow them to bring in additional lines of cabinetry and consolidate their showroom and warehouse into one building.”
J&K Kitchen and Bath’s showroom is currently located at 4141 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, while their warehouse is located at 7675 Matoaka Road. The company is scheduled to move into the space by the end of the year after some minor remodeling of the showroom space.
