TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Tampa partner Jay Verona has been appointed to a three year term on the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee “C” of the Thirteenth Circuit, which reviews complaints with much the same purpose as a grand jury. That is, the committee decides, after a case is submitted to them by bar counsel, whether there is probable cause to believe a lawyer violated the professional conduct rules imposed by the Supreme Court of Florida and whether discipline against the lawyer appears to be warranted.
Jay represents a variety of institutional and individual clients, and both creditors and debtors in a wide array of bankruptcy, business, real estate, including foreclosure prosecution and defense, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, and contract disputes and collection disputes. Jay also frequently serves as a mediator to assist others in resolving these types of disputes.
