WHO: Hillel Academy
WHAT: Hydroponic garden service day
WHEN: Wednesday, May 23, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: Beth Am, 2030 W. Fletcher Ave. Tampa 33612
DETAILS: Students, parents and teachers will join the nonprofit organization TUB Farms to rebuild some of the school’s hydroponic garden.
All will join together to clean, break down, and begin the process of adding to the garden. This fun event will include activities for children of all ages, such as painting rain buckets for the younger children, performing music, making t-shirts and more.
Throughout the school year, students – along with TUB Farms – have grown numerous healthy and fabulous vegetables and herbs, such as broccolli, kale, carrots, parsley… The students have learned about the growing process and enjoyed the fruits of their labors by getting to eat and share the produce. A portion of the produce this year has been donated to local survivors of the WWII Holocaust.
