Hudson, Florida (May 10, 2018) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is particularly proud to announce that, once again, one of its volunteers was recently a proud recipient of the “President’s Call to Service Award Certificate.” The award comes from the office of the President of the United States. It was instituted to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of volunteers and volunteering throughout the nation. The recipients receive a certificate, an order of congratulations from President Trump and a beautiful pin commemorating this event. In order to receive the order an individual must have volunteered for a minimum of 15 years and logged in over 7,500 hours of service. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s recipient this year is Harriet Prager.
Harriet Prager began volunteering in 1999, a mere 18 years ago, and has over 17,000 hours of service. Harriet currently volunteers at the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and is serving on the awards committee for the Volunteer Association. She has served on the association’s scholarship committee, helped with special projects, and was on the board of directors for the Volunteer Association and a board member of Suncoast Health & Education Foundation. She also has received a Five Star Award and a Volunteer of the Year Award in 2015.
In announcing the award, President Trump stated, “One of our nation’s greatest strengths remains the compassion of our everyday citizens, who give so willingly of themselves and their lives for the benefit of others. Each generation of hardworking and kindhearted volunteers helps to write a new chapter of American greatness, and our nation is proud for your commitment to this honorable tradition.”
