ST PETERSBURG, FL – May 1, 2018 – Alden Suites Beachfront Resort and owners Gary and Mary Ann Renfrow have donated $25,000 to Tampa Bay Watch to jump-start the nonprofit’s “$25,000 for 25 Years” campaign. The St. Petersburg Beach all-suite resort’s $15,000 donation combined with $10,000 from the Renfrow family will support Tampa Bay Watch’s vital efforts to protect and restore the Tampa Bay estuary. Tampa Bay Watch marks its 25th anniversary this year.
The Renfrows are true advocates of Tampa Bay Watch’s mission and have been active supporters for over fifteen years personally through their Tampa Bay Guardian pledge and as a Corporate Member through the Alden Suites. They choose to honor the organization’s twenty-fifth anniversary with the combined gift of $25,000 and inspire the Tampa Bay community to do the same.
Peter A. Clark, President of Tampa Bay Watch, Inc. states, “Tampa Bay Watch is extremely grateful to have the support of the Renfrows. “We are honored that Mary Ann and Gary have chosen to invest in our organization to commemorate the milestone of our twenty-fifth anniversary.”
Mary Ann Renfrow, who currently serves on Tampa Bay Watch’s Board of Directors as Treasurer, says, “Gary and I consider ourselves so fortunate to have spent most of our lives right here on Tampa Bay and its Gulf of Mexico beaches. This is where we have raised our daughter. This is where we have built a successful business. This is a place where we have enjoyed boating, swimming and walking the shores — a place we call home. We have this privilege because of the dedication of Tampa Bay Watch’s staff and volunteers, who have worked diligently to restore, preserve and protect Tampa Bay, as well as educate young people so that they will become stewards of this area for generations to come. On behalf of the Renfrows and our work family at Alden Suites, we invite others in the community to join with us so that Tampa Bay Watch can continue its vital mission.”
Tampa Bay Watch is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) stewardship program dedicated exclusively to the charitable and scientific purpose of protecting and restoring the marine and wetland environments of the Tampa Bay estuary encompassing over 400 square miles of open water and 2,300 square miles of highly-developed watershed. Tampa Bay Watch involves more than 10,000 youth and adult volunteers each year in hands-on habitat restoration projects. For more information, visit www.tampabaywatch.org, or call 727-867-8166.
