Craft Breweries Bring Local Economic and Tourism Benefits

Five years ago, the City had were no craft breweries within its city limits. Today there are three with two more in the planning stages. Saint Somewhere, Silverking, and Two Frogs are bringing locals and tourists Downtown into restored historic buildings, and helping revive the local economy. A new restaurant and lounge has opened on the Sponge Docks at 25 Dodecanese. BARaki offers Greek specialties and a full service bar in a European setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Stop in for lunch or dinner and a refreshing drink. |
Businesses In The Spotlight – Vintage Toys |
Shopping on Tarpon Avenue is a fun time with the addition of Bear Haven Vintage Toys, a whimsical store showcasing new and classic toys. Located at 111 E. Tarpon Ave., the store features collectibles like Star Wars, Barbie dolls, and baseball cards, along with Hot Wheels, military toys, and more. FDOT Making Road Improvements at two Alternate 19 Intersections
|
FDOT is currently constructing safety improvements to two Alt. 19 intersections in the City. These include a right turn lane onto Meres Blvd. from northbound Alt. 19, with a bike lane, crosswalks, resurfacing, striping, and sidewalk repairs. The second project is a new sidewalk, crosswalk, and mid-block crossing on Alt. 19 near Dixie Highway. Both projects are expected to be completed by fall 2018.
