BRADENTON, FL – Lost Pet Services, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reuniting lost pets in Manatee and Sarasota counties has successfully reunited over 700 lost pets already this year. During the month of April, over 160 pets have been reunited ranging from dogs, cats, a rat, and birds
.
A cat named Animal Planet missing for 175 days, a black cat named Buddy missing 292 days and a little dog named Maxie missing for over two months were just some of the special reunion stories.
They are 100% volunteer based and work 365 days of the year. The group has over 18,000 loyal members and systematically networks every lost pet – dogs, cats, goats, turtles, pigs, horses, lizards and more. If it’s a lost pet, they will help.
Lost Pet Services operates through its Facebook group, Lost and Found Pets 941 (Manatee & Sarasota) and its website. Over 6,000 pets have been reunited by this organization. Lost and Found Pets 941 group works closely with local shelters, rescues, vet’s offices, groomers and others in the community and has become the go-to group when a pet is lost.
Their main goal as a nonprofit is to microchip every reunited pet and supply free or low-cost microchips to the community. They are currently offering free microchips with every spay or neuter at the Humane Society of Manatee County.
The group operates with the help of donations from the local community. They are proud to be a part of this year’s Giving Challenge 2018 sponsored by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation.
