Annual 24-hour online giving challenge for Tampa Bay nonprofits returns May 1
St. Petersburg, Fla. (April 27, 2018) – Give Day Tampa Bay returns on May 1 and Friends of Strays will be one of hundreds of local nonprofits participating. The annual fundraiser is a 24-hour online giving challenge that gives Tampa Bay residents and businesses a convenient platform for supporting the causes they care about.
This year, Friends of Strays has set a special goal of $7,000 to help fund the installation of new dog kennels. These kennels will allow the shelter to take in twice as many dogs in need of a loving home.
In addition to individual donations, Friends of Strays is looking for businesses and organizations who support the shelter’s mission to help it reach its goal. Local businesses can boost the shelter’s fundraising efforts on Give Day by matching donations for various periods of time throughout the day.
“We’re delighted to be participating in Give Day Tampa Bay, which is a wonderful event that helps bring greater awareness to all kinds of deserving nonprofits in the Tampa Bay area,” said Dara Eckart, Executive Director of Friends of Strays. “All donations to Friends of Strays on Give Day will go directly toward expanding our dog adoption program, allowing us to help save more lives than ever before.”
Last year’s Give Day raised over $1.7 million for more than 500 Tampa Bay area nonprofits. This year, organizers hope to raise even more.
