The 100-voice One City Chorus was founded in October 2016 with the belief that singing in a group builds community and leads to better understanding among people. It welcomes people of all races, cultures, creeds and communities to sing with them – all without auditions! Their performances of songs about social justice, civil rights, diversity and equality have been described as “joyous, uplifting and beautifully sung” by Creative Loafing who honored them with a Best of the Bay Award for “Best Voices Raised Together in Song.” Highlights of our 2017-2018 season have included singing at St. Pete’s First Night festivities on New Year’s Eve, a concert at the Palladium Theater in February, and the April 4th observation of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luth King Jr.’s assassination, also at the Palladium. On May 3rd we will participate at the National Day of Prayer event to be held at Gibbs High Stadium.
