“On-Camera Savvy Boot Camp” will help attendees improve their understanding of how to effectively prepare for and optimize video messaging opportunities. Presented by national media trainer Joan Lowery, this free Success Strategies for Business Owners Meetup will offer information on how to develop and deliver messages in live and recorded on-camera situations. Topics will include sound bite techniques, verbal and non-verbal communications, and relating to the camera and the production crew.
Lowery has more than 30 years of experience in broadcasting, journalism, acting, coaching and media training for high tech, healthcare, nonprofit and industry clients. She serves as a consultant for numerous Fortune 500 companies and as a faculty member for State College of Florida’s Leadership Academy.
“People who are intimidated by the thought of going on-camera, or who have been disappointed by previous experiences, can learn techniques to improve their confidence and performance on-camera,” Lowery said. “With a bit of ‘know how,’ people can overcome their apprehension and learn to be an outstanding on-camera communicator.”
Dennis Zink, Manasota SCORE chapter chair, emphasizes the importance of video in marketing campaigns. “Video is the most popular type of content you can use online, and for good reason,” Zink said. “Video on your website and social media means your messages will be viewed more often, with more shares and up to 95% better retention than text alone. Viewers are quick to stop watching, so best practice is to keep your videos short and your messages concise.”
This Meetup is sponsored by Manasota SCORE and BankUnited. It will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM on Monday, April 30, on the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus (Room A320), 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
Although there is no charge for this event, registration is requested and available at https://www.manasota.score.org. For additional information, contact Manasota SCORE Chapter 116 at scorech116@verizon.net or 941.955.1029.
