Non-Profits Partner to Share Inspiration in the Bay area
Tampa, FL— An all-day caravan of creativity on wheels is coming to the Bay area on Tuesday, May 1, when Good Moves shares interactive art, music, and more through a collaboration of creative mobile partners.
The Good Moves Caravan is a joint venture between Bess the Book Bus, Bluebird Books Bus, Boards for Bros, Giving Tree Music, NOMAD Art Bus, and new this year: Road to Artdom. For the third year running, these organizations will load up their respective buses, trailers, and cargo vans and hit the streets to provide a full day of dynamic pop-up programming at stops throughout the Bay area, with both open and closed engagements.
They’re bringing activities to local streets morning to night on May 1 in celebration of Give Day Tampa Bay—a 24-hour fundraising challenge joined by hundreds of community non-profits. The caravan heads to places like centers for people with disabilities, programs for at-risk youth, parks and rec centers in areas of high poverty, and Title 1 schools. Each stop lasts about 60 minutes, during which participants can pick out books, join a drum circle, make art, paint a bus, and even try out skateboarding. In keeping with the Give Day spirit, there is no cost to participants along the way. When the hour is up, the crew packs it in and hustles on to the next location.
There is always at least one stop open to the public, and this year it’s from 4 to 5 p.m. at DeSoto Park, 2617 Corrine Street in Tampa. Drop by to say hi and join the festivities, then afterward you can roll over to Coppertail Brewing Co. (2601 E. 2nd Ave., Ybor City) for the closing party. It’s a caravan of sharing, because Good Moves!
These partners turn Give Day Tampa Bay into an opportunity to truly give back, engaging with diverse, public and private community groups to deliver joyful, empowering creative experiences. If you’re moved by what you see, you can join in the mission of Give Day and support continued outreach by making a donation to these mobile partners on site or online.
