ST. PETE BEACH, Florida, April 20, 2018 — Dylan Miksch, a student at Admiral Farragut Academy, has been selected to represent St. Pete Beach as a National Youth Delegate to the 2018 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University, June 24-29 in Fairfax, VA.
Dylan is the son of Diane Miksch, a CPA since 1986 and head of her own Miksch & Company firm in St. Pete Beach since 1993. They prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts; do bookkeeping, sales tax and payroll tax returns; and help new business owners decide on setting up as an LLC or S Corporation.
“I’m so proud of Dylan,” Diane said. “He’s been attending Admiral Farragut since kindergarten and has grown into an intelligent teenager. I hope Dylan and the other teens will learn a lot at this environmental youth forum and have an impact on improving the world’s environmental issues. I feel honored that Admiral Farragut chose Dylan to represent them.”
Miksch joins a select group of 300 students from across the country to participate in the Summit — an intensive, week-long study of leadership in environmental science and conservation. He was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in the sciences and conservation studies.
George Mason University and partners National Geographic and the Smithsonian’s National Zoo are excited to welcome the nation’s young scholars to Washington, D.C. With distinguished faculty, guest speakers, and direct access to elite D.C. practitioners, the Summit offers aspiring environmentalists and student leaders an unparalleled experience. Held at George Mason University’s state-of-the-art campus, the Summit will encourage and inspire young leaders who desire a unique experience focused on successful careers in this dynamic industry.
