April 19, 2018 by Post

Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) has been ranked fourth overall best college among the 28 state and community colleges in the Florida College System by Schools.com.

“This latest ranking validates our diligence in providing high quality, accessible and affordable educational opportunities to the communities we serve,” said Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., president, Pasco-Hernando State College.

Schools.com evaluated the 28 member institutions in the Florida College System, including traditional community colleges and state colleges that provide bachelor’s degrees as well as associate’s degrees. Schools.com relayed that Florida’s efforts to develop a more well trained and educated workforce have garnered national attention and the Florida College System, and the state’s top performing colleges, have been a key factor in this endeavor. The statistical methodology used to rank colleges included affordability, graduation rates, transfer rates and student-faculty ratio.

“Our students have every reason to be proud to attend PHSC and we are very pleased to be recognized for our accomplishments,” said Beard.

PHSC ranked fourth behind Valencia College (Orlando), followed by Eastern Florida State College (Cocoa), and Lake-Sumter State College (Leesburg), respectively.
