SPRING DANCE CONCERT

This year’s concert features performances by the HCC Dance Ensembleperforming works by faculty and guest choreographers. Highlights include: Sea Lee’s piece Aparigraha, which in Sanskrit refers to ‘non-greed,’ ‘non-possessiveness,’ and ‘non-attachment’ in the five yams of Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga; Dreaming by Erin Cardinal is inspired by the many who have traveled to this country to pursue their dreams and provide a better life for their families; Re.lationis a three part work created by Julie Harlan which explores the nuances of how people develop and articulate their own voice within the context of relationship;From the Cutting Room Floor, a tongue-in-cheek look at clichés in choreography, bad dance technique, even worse habits, and narcissistic regard for the audience; Transmission by Christina Acosta; and 3 – 4 – 5 -A Celebration by Richard Allan Ploch.
The Mainstage Theatre is in the Ybor City Campus performing arts building of the Ybor City Campus. It is located at the corner of E Palm Ave and N 14th Street (Avenida Republica de Cuba). All HCC students, faculty and staff are admitted free of charge with valid ID. The box office opens an hour prior to the performance.
