State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Radiography Program student Phillip Cascio recently won first place in the Student-Educator-Radiographer Seminar Student Bee in Atlanta. The Bee is part of an annual seminar designed to help students from all over the country prepare for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam.
Eighty of the 650 students at the seminar participated in the Bee. The competition requires students to answer questions from all areas of radiography, including radiography physics, anatomy and physiology, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, and patient care.
“I’m very proud of Phillip for his excellent showing at the Student Bee,” said Patrick Patterson, radiography program director. “SCF’s program continues to be one of the best in Florida, with 100 percent of our students passing the national certification exam last year.”
