OSPREY, FL (April 8th, 2018)- Sarasota Crew raced at the FSRA West District Championships this past weekend at the Tampa Bypass Canal. Sarasota Crew’s Varsity and Novice athletes compiled 58 entries in 37 events. Sarasota Crew athletes came home with 28 first place finishes, 12 second place finishes, and 6 third place finishes.
“The FSRA West Districts are a great place to test our State championship lineups. We earned the number one seed out of our district in 28 events for our state championships coming up next weekend and three weeks from now.” said Casey Galvanek. “We are looking to extend our streak of Sculling State Championship team titles to seven, this year.”
Races were 1,500 meters in all of the events that will be raced at the FSRA Sculling State Championships that will take place April 14-15th and the FSRA Sweep State Championships April 28-29th at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
