Popular SoHo Restaurant Features Signature Dishes, Creative Cocktails and Assorted Spanish Tapas Served in a Lively Setting that Offers Indoor, Patio and Rooftop Seating
Tampa, Fla. (April 2, 2018) – Fresh seafood, pork chops served on a bed of crispy bread crumbs sautéed with chorizo and bacon, a traditional tapa from the Canary Islands featuring whipped Mahón and cream cheese, sweet, succulent grilled peaches and tosta de setas, a tasty combination of toasted bread topped with ricotta cheese and sautéed mushrooms, are new spring selections now featured on the dinner menu at South Tampa’s Bulla Gastrobar.
The seasonally fresh, flavorful dishes join the restaurant’s menu for a limited time and are available exclusively at dinner daily. In addition, Catalán-style cannelloni has been added to both the lunch and dinner options and will remain on those menus indefinitely. Filled with a blend of ground veal, beef and pork and combined with soft cream cheese, these cannelloni are topped with a homemade béchamel sauce and tetilla cheese that sets them apart from red-sauce versions.
“Although everyone thinks of Italy when they talk about pasta, Spaniards truly feel that Spain gifted Italy with this dish,” said Carlos Centurion, president and founder of Centurion Restaurant Group. “In Spain, cannelloni is traditionally made with white sauce (béchamel) and Italy makes it with a red sauce. And it is usually made with pork or chicken but we “Bulla-fied” it with ground veal and beef from our popular albondigas (meatballs).”
Guests sampling the new spring dishes will be able to enjoy a limited time offer. When ordering selections from the spring menu, guests must present the promo code BULLASPRING10, as displayed on social media or printed in a media article, to earn a $10 discount now through April 30. Only one discount offer may be applied per table.
New for spring are the following dishes:
-
- Tosta de Setas made with toasted pan del cristal and sautéed cremini and Portobello mushrooms
- Chuleta de Cerdo featuring a grilled pork chop served with a refreshing side of citrusy fennel slaw
- Grilled Peach Salad made with greens, serrano ham, burrata and a light citrus dressing
- Roasted Oysters topped with a compound butter made from lemon, garlic, leeks and a hint of Tabasco sauce
- Canarian Cheese Spread “Almogrote” combining Mahón and cream cheese mixed with guindilla peppers, cayenne pepper and smoked paprika and served with crostini
Since opening at 930 S. Howard Ave. in The Morrison building last August, Bulla (pronounced “boo-ya”) has quickly become a crowd-pleasing Monday through Friday lunch, weekend brunch and nightly dinner destination that is celebrated for its Spanish-inspired cuisine, creative cocktails, inviting happy hours and seasonal dishes. Brunch guests may partake of bottomless servings of sangria and mimosas while those gathering during Bulla’s daily happy hour, or “Bulla Hour,” may choose from half-priced beer, wine and house liquor.
Inspired by the famous gastrobars of Spain, South Tampa’s 172-seat Bulla Gastrobar includes a covered patio, interior bar and dining rooms as well as the stylish rooftop Luna Lounge, the first venue of its kind for the Bulla brand.
Guests know to come to Bulla to enjoy handcrafted cocktails, made-to-order sangrias and top-shelf Spanish beer and wine selections along with a menu that employs the “alta cocina” approach to tapas, applying modern innovations to traditional Spanish recipes. The culinary team adds distinctive flavors and textures using a Josper charcoal oven-grill, an important aspect of the Bulla kitchen that is found only in select restaurants in the U.S. Popular menu selections include shareable offerings like Huevos “Bulla” (eggs, Serrano ham, potato foam, truffle oil and homemade potato chips) and Paella (Valencia-style rice, seafood, red sofrito and saffron), that are characterized by bold flavors and fresh ingredients.
Bulla Gastrobar has two restaurants in South Florida and two Central Florida sites, Winter Park and Tampa, as well as locations in Midtown Atlanta and Plano, Texas.
