After seven years in downtown Lakeland, Got Candy & More is taking its show on the road.
Owner Lea Williams is moving to a food truck business model. Got Candy’s last day at 115 S. Kentucky Ave. is March 31.
The food truck will offer many of the items the storefront featured, including ice cream by the scoop, ice cream paninis, milkshakes, floats, cupcakes and cookies. Williams also will serve gourmet hand pies, cake slices, cheesecake and a variety of foods with dipping chocolate.
“I have enjoyed being part of downtown Lakeland since 2011, and I look forward to continuing to participate in events that happen downtown,” Williams said.
The Got Candy food truck will participate in the Thursday Squared Food Truck Rally events, as well as the Polk Museum of Art’s MIDFLORIDA Mayfaire by-the-Lake on May 12-13.
Williams will offer catering, and she will continue to operate the Pink Table Café, which she opened in November inside The Red Geranium Boutique at 226 W. Central Ave. in downtown Winter Haven.
Williams has sold her equipment to cake decorator Luis Arias, who will continue to operate his own business in the space.
