
SARASOTA, Fla. — The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Academy, a nonprofit that strives to develop the full potential of students with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities, is seeking an administrative director.
MBJ Group, a talent management company, is leading the search for the position. In the role, the administrative director will assist the clinical director and operations director with the strategic leadership and management of the Academy, assist with defining key goals and develop and implement innovative methods to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate services. The administrator will ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, licensure and accreditation while maintaining the ABA Academy’s high-quality service.
“We believe that all children are entitled to an education in a setting where they can thrive emotionally, academically and socially,” said Shelly Swift, executive director of ABA Academy. “For this position, we are seeking an understanding and empathic individual who will serve as an integral member of our senior management staff and represent the organization in external ways to enhance its visibility, reputation and fundraising capabilities.”

The ABA Academy opened in Manatee County with eight students in 2013. In 2016, the nonprofit relocated to a new building in Sarasota County. The organization has six classrooms that are all run differently based on its students’ goals.
Through extremely individualized assessments and curriculum and evidence-based teaching, students set goals related to academics as well as social, emotional and behavioral needs. Many of its students receive private one-on-one therapy with therapists after school or in their homes for parents who wish to extend services and bridge the gap between home and school.
