St Petersburg, FL – March 27, 2018 – Daystar Life Center, Inc. will present its sixth annual With These Hands Breakfast – Celebrating a Community That Cares on Wednesday, April 18 at First Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg. This is Daystar’s opportunity to bring awareness and create advocacy for our neighbors in need.
Daystar will present the With These Hands award to Karen Seel, Pinellas County Commissioner. Ms. Seel will be honored for exhibiting and practicing Daystar’s values of compassion and respect for all individuals in her work. The breakfast begins at 7:30 am and the program will conclude by 9:00 am.
Professor Arthur Skinner of Eckerd College will present “Sacred Art, Sacred Places”. He will take us to places around the world which are considered sacred by various cultures as well as sharing some art which is held to be sacred. This production brings to life the peace that being in a sacred place or viewing a sacred piece of art can provide.
Architect’s drawings of Daystar’s new building will also be on display.

Daystar Life Center is an independent non-profit that provides basic needs to individuals and families in times of crisis. The volunteer-driven agency returns 95 cents of each $1 donated to direct client services, include food pantry, clothes closet, local transportation, utility assistance, rent/mortgage assistance, medication assistance program, Travelers Aid, personal identification, hygiene needs, online benefits assistance, confidential and secure mail service for clients who request it, information/referrals for other services, USDA commodity food distribution, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
