Embracing the Dream – Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

April 4th, 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The community is invited to come together to commemorate the occasion, to remember historic events that occurred in St. Petersburg, to mark the progress that has been made since the struggle began and to re-dedicate ourselves to the work that yet remains. The evening will include readings of excerpts from Dr. King’s writings and speeches, recollections of historic events in St. Petersburg and musical performances. Participants include Bob Devin Jones, City Administrator Kanika Tomalin, Terri Lipsey Scott, Sharon Scott, Alex Harris and One City Chorus.
