Siesta Key Breeze trolley celebrates 230,000 passengers on March 20

SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) is celebrating the one year anniversary of the Siesta Key Breeze trolley by honoring the 230,000th passenger on Tuesday, March 20.
The celebration will be held at 10 a.m., at the gazebo in Siesta Key Village. The lucky rider will win a gift basket filled with goodies and gift cards, which are redeemable at Siesta Key stores and restaurants. Refreshments will also be served.
“We have been very pleased with the response of the community and the number of riders who have used the service,” said Rob Lewis, interim director of SCAT.
The free trolley, which runs from the Siesta Key Village to Turtle beach, operates 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays. The trolley also runs till midnight on weekends.
