Luxury home builder captures three “Best Overall” plaques along with other wins
Lakewood Ranch, FL—Lee Wetherington Homes marched smartly to the winners’ table numerous times at the 2018 Parade of Homes Awards Gala, held at the Hyatt Sarasota on March 1. The awards demonstrated once again why Builder magazine named the company “America’s Best Builder”: three “Best Overall” awards, additional acclaim for the fourth submission, and two top prizes for LeeSure Water Pools, its pool company.
Company founder Lee Wetherington led the march to the winners’ table for the first of the awards. Gregg Carlson, CEO of Lee Wetherington Homes, is adding them to the company’s 300+ Parade of Homes plaques that attest to over four decades of excellence in home building. The Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association sponsors the annual competition, choosing judges among industry professionals who travel from outside the area to avoid bias. “That makes the awards even more meaningful, knowing we’ve been selected by some of the toughest judges available,” Carlson said.
The four luxury homes entered by Lee Wetherington Homes are all in prestigious communities. The three “Best Overall” winners are in Lakewood Ranch, one in The Lake Club, an amenities-rich community with acclaimed golf course and spectacular 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, and two in the water-oriented community of LakeHouse Cove at Waterside, where water taxis will shuttle residents to the new Lakewood Ranch Town Center.
