OSPREY, FL (March 12th, 2018)- Sarasota Crew raced at the OARS Youth Invitational Regatta at Turkey Lake in Orlando this past weekend. Sarasota Crew’s Varsity and Novice athletes compiled 42 entries, and came home with 15 first place finishes, 2 second place finishes, and 3 third place finishes. Sarasota Crew won the Women’s Points Trophy, Men’s Points Trophy and the Overall Team Points trophy.
“We went into this weekend looking for a bit sharper attention to detail with better execution, and we got it”, said Sarasota Crew head coach Casey Galvanek. “Especially satisfying was the execution of our younger, freshmen, student-athletes. On the girls side watching them place first, fourth and seventh with boys placing first, fifth, and eighth in the freshmen 8+ event was impressive to say the least.”
