Tampa, FL, March 6, 2018 – Northern Lights Solutions (NLS), a leading worldwide product innovation firm, has landed a new contract with Competition Composites, Inc. to help them create digital prototypes of carbon fiber composite products and simulate their performances.
Based in Ontario, Canada, Composition Composites is a leader in offering custom composites of the highest quality. They are known for their excellent customer service and helping their clients achieve their composite goals. They serve an array of industries but specialize in the marine and military markets. NLS is excited to be working with them again on another project.
Designing composite materials can be a complex process due to their nonlinear behavior. Traditional design methods for composites can be time consuming and oftentimes requires numerous physical prototypes to confirm the design works before production. Using digital prototypes can dramatically reduce this process and lead to better designs. CCI hired NLS because of our abilities and capabilities in the field of developing digital prototypes of new programs and evaluating their performance in digital space and optimizing the designs based on these results.
We saved CCI and their customers time and money because we can simulate different design and boundary conditions easily and CCI knows that once they go to production, the design is right for the situation.
Roger Tipton, Principal for New Product Innovation commented that, “We here at NLS have the talent, experience and the advanced simulation tools to digitally design and test the composites successfully before production begins.”
