SARASOTA, Fla. (March 05, 2018) – USF Sarasota-Manatee’s annual “HospitaBull” to raise funds for the College of Hospitality & Tourism Leadership (CHTL) is scheduled March 21 at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, 1111 Ritz-Carlton Drive.
An elegant and memorable dining event, HospitaBull brings together renowned Ritz-Carlton chefs with CHTL faculty and students. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails start at 6 p.m. Cocktail attire. “Hospitality students from two classes will work alongside Ritz-Carlton staff both in the back of the house and front of the house,” hospitality management instructor Dr. Joe Askren said. “We have an amazing event planned, and I hope that folks come out for a terrific evening while supporting our students.” Tickets are $150. Conference to focus on career women USF Sarasota-Manatee is hosting a career women’s conference this month with four dynamic women: Sarasota County Court Judge Erika Quartermaine; Erin Duggan, vice president of Visit Sarasota; Lisl Liang, chief executive officer and editor-in-chief of SRQ Media; and Manatee County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Diana Greene. This engaging and uplifting conference, the Career Success Women’s Forum, is free and open to the public. The event is scheduled March 22, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Selby Auditorium on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. USFSM Regional Chancellor Dr. Karen Holbrook will open the conference and each speaker will make brief remarks before the event is turned over to audience members for a Q&A session. Registration is required and will be open until two days before the event. Creativity Conference is set The 15th annual Florida Creativity Conference is scheduled March 23-25 in Sarasota. This year’s conference offers 50 creativity workshops with a who’s who of presenters from nine states, Colombia, the Netherlands and Canada. “The importance of growing human creativity at this time in the 21st century cannot be overestimated with innovation being recognized as an essential for business leaders, entrepreneurs and educators,” conference Co-Chair Hedria Lunken Salzman said. Participants will learn from experts in problem solving and creative innovation. Experts include Lee Kitchen, a 30-year Disney veteran; actor, director and playwright Nate Jacobs; and Josh Mahaney, a member of the Orlando Magic’s Innovation Lab team, who will deliver a keynote speech. Workshops will be held at USF Sarasota-Manatee (March 23-24) and the Florida Studio Theatre (March 25). Attendees can attend one day, two days or all three. Chef Darwin to visit Bulls Bistro Chef Darwin Santa Maria, an internationally recognized master of Peruvian-style cooking, will bring his award-winning talents to the Bulls Bistro.
