St. Petersburg, FL – March 5, 2018 – Author Rita Moreau’s latest, a novella The Russian & Aunt Sophia, is due to launch the week of March 13. This book marks the fourth in the popular Mary Catherine Mahoney mystery series and continues the quirky and zany adventures of Sister Hildegard and Sister Matilda.
“The Russian & Aunt Sophia is a madcap cozy mystery novella that could only take place in Florida,” says Moreau. The manuscript wasn’t originally intended to be a novella. It was well underway to becoming a novel when the opportunity arose to enter it into the 2017 ScreenCraft Cinematic Short Story Contest. Moreau jumped at the chance and set to the painful journey of cutting the manuscript down from over 50,000 words to the required entry of a maximum of 20,000 words. The editing paid off and The Russian & Aunt Sophia was chosen as a semi-finalist in the 2017 prestigious ScreenCraft Cinematic Short Story Contest.
ScreenCraft commented, “The Russian & Aunt Sophia is a very unique and delightfully quirky tale of mystery and murder. The locations are vivid and fun, the characters are engaging, and the plot is very solid and effective. The Russian & Aunt Sophia would work immensely well as a cinematic adaptation.”
The other books in the Mary Catherine Mahoney series are Feisty Nuns!, Nuns! Psychics! & Gypsies OH NO!!, and Bribing Saint Anthony. All are available on Amazon. For more information go to www.amazon.com/author/rrmoreau.
