OSPREY, FL (March 5th, 2018)- Sarasota Crew raced at the Plant Invite- Spring Sprints #2 Regatta at the Tampa Bypass Canal this past weekend. Sarasota Crew’s Varsity, Novice and Middle School athletes compiled 86 entries, and came home with 34 first place finishes, 20 second place finishes, and 13 third place finishes.
Races were 1,500 meters in all events that will be raced at the Florida State Championships in April.
“Today was a greatly successful day for Sarasota Crew. We were able to test some new line-ups and get them some experience on the race course against great competition .”, quipped Sarasota Crew’s Head Coach Casey Galvanek. “There aren’t many opportunities like the ones provided by this regatta series. We want to take advantage of every chance we can against talented competition like we saw today.”
