LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — Neal Communities, southwest Florida’s premier, private homebuilder, recently made a $2,500 sponsorship donation to the Humane Society of Manatee County for its 12th annual Paws in Motion Walk-A-Thon.
The annual walk-a-thon fundraiser helps raise money for animals at the shelter. As part of its ongoing commitment to contributing to the greater good, Neal Communities gives back time and resources to community causes, programs and organizations that improve the community’s overall quality of life and educate its residents.
The homebuilder has a longstanding partnership with the Humane Society of Manatee County, having sponsored the Paws in Motion Walk-A-Thon for a number of years.
“Community support and the support of the businesses in our community make it possible for the Humane Society of Manatee County to continue our mission of saving lives four paws at a time,” said Rick Yocum, executive director of the Humane Society of Manatee County. “Neal Communities’ long-term support of our work on behalf of the animals is admirable and appreciated. Humane Society of Manatee County cherishes the commitment to our community and our partnership with Neal Communities”.
This year’s Paws in Motion Walk-A-Thon will be held March 3, at Caddy’s at the Pointe located on the Riverwalk in Bradenton. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a leisurely one-mile walk along the Manatee River at 10 a.m. The registration fee is $25 for walkers 16 and up and $10 for children under 16, which includes an event t-shirt and goody bag. Participants can walk with or without their dog.
In addition to the walk, participants also will enjoy vendor booths, demonstrations, live music, games, contests and raffle drawings.
The Paws in Motion Walk-A-Thon is the Humane Society of Manatee County’s largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds from the event will benefit the animals in the nonprofit’s Second Chance Adoption Shelter.
The Humane Society of Manatee County is committed to leading Manatee County in fostering compassion and respect for animals through care, education and collaboration. As a community- based non-profit organization, the Humane Society of Manatee County relies entirely upon donations for all of its programs, including low cost spay/neuter services, trap/neuter and return for feral cats, Pet Safety Net resources and rescue and adoption of orphaned dogs and cats.
