TAMPA, Fla. (March 1, 2018) – GTE Financial, one of Florida’s largest credit unions, is proud to announce the promotions of three of its dedicated and committed internal staff members. Each of the individuals promoted has been with the credit union for more than 10 years. They have demonstrated leadership and have played a pivotal role in elevating the cooperative’s standards and operations.
“Throughout the years, all three executives have been devoted to bringing the best banking experience to our membership,” said Brian Best, president and CEO of GTE Financial. “They have been advocates for the credit union and we are all proud of their continuous accomplishments.”
Kyle Donovan has been promoted to vice president of operations. He started with GTE Financial in 2003 as a teller and eventually moved into the IT department in 2006 as a network support specialist. In 2011, Kyle was promoted to manager of enterprise system support where he led the IT help desk and spearheaded GTE’s initiative to become a paperless organization. In 2012, Kyle was promoted to assistant vice president of technology solutions, where he oversaw the program management, business systems analysts and IT support teams. In his new role, Kyle will lead the efforts of implementing operational strategies and objectives across multiple business units.
GTE Financial has promoted Paul Wisniewski to vice president of enterprise infrastructure. Paul began his career with the credit union in 2003 as its network security engineer and in 2011, became the assistant vice president of network, systems and security. Paul has been responsible for redesigning GTE’s infrastructure to make it more efficient, more secure and cost-effective. His implementation of virtualization technology has allowed the cooperative to reduce its overall data center footprint by 70 percent, optimize email, access and login experiences, in addition to enhancing GTE’s disaster recovery solutions.
Ashley Stimatz is now the assistant vice president and chief of staff to the president and CEO. She has been with the credit union for 11 years and began as a teller. In 2011, Ashley became the manager of GTE’s Seffner Community Financial Center and in November 2015, she was promoted to assistant vice president of community engagement. She helped increased the credit union’s visibility within the communities through GTE’s financial literacy program. During her two year tenure, 13,000 youth and adults were provided financial literacy – an increase of 73 percent over previous years. In her new role, she will work closely with the CEO and lead special projects and research for the cooperative.
