TAMPA, Fla. (February 28, 2018) – Holland & Knight attorney George Howell III was the recipient of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Bob Cutler Award at the organization’s 20th Military Appreciation Awards dinner on Feb. 15. Mr. Howell received this civilian award for his activities supporting service members and their families and for starting a program that aids active duty military and veterans in Hillsborough County.
Mr. Howell has been a strong advocate for Tampa’s MacDill Air Force Base and is the current chair of the MacDill Support Council. He has been involved in a number of immersive programs and projects at the base over the past nine years.
Mr. Howell has also spent the past three years working to establish a comprehensive program that will assist veterans, active duty military members and their families in the Tampa Bay area. The program, called Mission United, is being developed in partnership with the United Way Suncoast. Mr. Howell serves as the chair of its advisory council.
