During March the Sheriff’s Explorers Post #916 will be featured by the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office as its monthly charitable organization. The Sheriff’s Explorers Post #916 is affiliated with both the Boys Scouts of America and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office to help young people learn more about a possible career in law enforcement. This will be the first time the Sheriff’s Explorers Post #916 will be a featured organization at the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office. Raising funds to support the Explorer’s training, competitions and recruiting efforts are all goals of March’s charitable giving campaign.
“We thank our Tax Collector Mike Fasano and everyone at his office for supporting the next generation of Pasco leaders in our Explorer Program,” states Sheriff Chris Nocco. “Our goal is to create a strong bond with the youth in our community and develop a partnership that will last a life time.”
Donations on behalf of the Sheriff’s Explorers Post #916 will be accepted at all five tax offices, as well as through the mail. The Explorers have finished at the highest levels at state championships due to their disciple and expertise. Many of the young men and women who go through the Explorer program often go on to have successful law enforcement careers. The Sheriff’s Explorers Post #916 volunteers at the annual Farm Share Holiday Food Giveaway and other events affiliated with the tax collector’s office.
“We are proud to partner with Sheriff’s Explorers Post #916 to help shine a spotlight on this wonderful organization,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “The Explorers, their student leader Major Carter Roan and the professional and civilian staff who work with them, are true role-models for any young person, especially those interested in pursuing law enforcement as a potential field of endeavor. Sheriff Chris Nocco and his command staff have placed a great emphasis on promoting the Explorers in the community. We are glad that we can do our part to help the next generation of law enforcement officers learn more about the opportunities available to them.”
