Tampa Bay – February 13th, 2018 – Longtime entrepreneur, civic leader and technology activist Peter Dobler will assume the leadership of the Tampa Bay Technology Association (TBTLA) as President in 2018. Dobler is the founder and CEO of Dobler Consulting llc, a 10 year old, remote database administration managed solutions firm.
The TBTLA mission is simple and civic – to connect today’s leaders in information technology, with the new emerging IT talent in the region, to make Tampa Bay a hub of 21st century digital innovation. “TBTLA is about the nurturing and mentoring of talent; it is an investment in the long-game,” according to Dobler. “Part of the exciting growth of Tampa Bay as a regional technology cluster is because, almost 20 years ago, IT leaders made this an inter-generational civic commitment.”
TBTLA offers events, social networking opportunities and mentoring to area schools, colleges and businesses, including a direct partnership with the University of Tampa’s Information and Technology Department’s GETSMART (Get Everyone to Study Math And Related Technology) Program. Dobler’s goal is to expand the scope and reach of TBTLA in the coming year through a deeper engagement with the Tampa Bay emerging technology innovation cluster.
Dobler has been a long-term member of TBTLA. Most recently he served as the organizations CIO Liaison to better understand area businesses needs, issues of emerging competitive technologies and the pressing needs for talent and workforce development. “The Tampa Bay area has a lot of competitive advantages in attracting and retaining innovative 21st century businesses’ – talent and leadership must always be near the top of that list.”
