February 19, 2018 – Colorado Springs, CO – Eclypses™, an industry leader in cybersecurity software, has been named one of 20 innovative emerging companies by Global Automotive & Mobility Innovation Challenge (GAMIC) to compete in their 10th annual challenge. Eclypses’ patent pending MicroToken Exchange™ technology replaces user data with MicroTokens™ to provide the highest level of data privacy available.
All semi-finalists have created innovative technologies geared toward the advancement of future vehicles and transportation systems. In Eclypses’ case, the focus is on how its embedded cybersecurity software stops the threat of criminals and terrorists hacking into connected automobiles and trucks.
“We are proud to be one of the companies competing at this prestigious event”, said Steven Russo, Executive Vice President at Eclypses. “Our MicroToken Exchange solves potential security issues for vehicle manufactures and systems suppliers such as hacking of remote and vehicle to vehicle communications, collision avoidance systems, and key FOBs entry to name a few”, Russo added.
Eclypses is joining semi-finalists representing eight states in the U.S. and five other countries. Becoming a semi-finalist was no small task. All companies competed in front of a distinctive panel of 15 judges, Tier 1 suppliers, and representatives from the investment community in six individual rounds located around the country. Contestants were scored and the top companies then moved on to the semi-final round based on their business plans and the potential impact of their technologies.
The competition is sponsored by SAE International and MI Innovation Alliance and will take place at Walsh College in Troy, MI on February 23. The top contestants from this round will then move on to the GAMIC finals in Detroit on April 10.
Contestants compete in the following four technology categories:
- Vehicle Electrification, V2X Communication and Advanced Mobility
- Advanced Materials, Sensors, Actuators and Manufacturing Processes
- Infotainment, Auto Consumer / Value Add and Value Chain / New Business Models
- New High-Value, Disruptive Technology Innovations
Top teams from each category will receive more than $300,000 of in-kind assistance and cash to assist in moving their technologies to commercialization. Historically, both previous winners and contestants have found the visibility this Challenge offers to be of great benefit to their company.
