Tampa, FL – Plan Hillsborough and the Tampa Downtown Partnership invite you to join us for our Commuter Challenge Week February 19 – 23. Leave your car at home, and try another mode of transportation for a trip, a day, or the week. Share your experience with us on social media using the hashtag #CommuterChallenge18. We can’t wait to see your photos!
Plan Hillsborough held our inaugural Commuter Challenge in March 2017. This year, we’re excited to announce the Tampa Downtown Partnership has officially accepted the challenge! Karen Kress, Tampa Downtown Partnership Director of Transportation & Planning, also serves on the Planning Commission representing the City of Tampa. She said, “The Downtown Partnership wanted to partner with Plan Hillsborough on this commuter challenge because many people don’t realize how well-served downtown Tampa is as a regional employment center. And we’ve worked hard to create multiple ways to move around downtown once they get here. Our region does need better transportation choices, but getting people to think outside of their car and explore their options is the best way to inspire change. We also love a challenge and wanted to be a part of the fun!”
In addition to the Challenge being a great opportunity to “literally walk the walk” when it comes to planning and transportation options, participants will also gain an opportunity to improve air quality, avoid traffic, burn calories, and save money. You may even make some new friends along the way. For more information and commuter resources, visit:
